The bits missed out...

Righty-ho, as well as the big Europe adventure, there is much more lined up before hand that I forgot about which definitely deserves a mention.

In 30 days (I think Becky has been counting down since 730 days!) we are off to Thailand for two weeks. The plan is that we have 3 days in Bangkok, then move south to Koh Chang for 8 days, then back up to Bangkok for a further 3 days. Depending on how things go whilst we're there, we may venture over to Cambodia as Koh Chang isn't too far away, but I think we'll decide that when we're over there. There's a little map below so you can see...



Over the festive period (being Christmas) Sue, Beck and Jack are coming over to England from Australia so I have just over a week off work and will be going around the touristy places of England. Nothing is set in stone yet as to where, but it will be pretty awesome.

Sometime when the weather gets all nice myself, my Dad and Uncle are planning a mammoth adventure on our Push Bikes. The plan is to go from Lands End to John O Groats over two weeks. We figure it will be something like 900-1000 miles. Originally we were going to stay in B&B's and Hostels, but it looks like there may be a bit of a back-up team consisting of Mum and Becky travelling in the van and pitching up at camp sites so we meet them when they have got our cold beers ready. As it's a pretty big trip, I'm sure that some sponsorship for charity will have to be arranged so I will post stuff on here when there is more news.

The next event prior to the big tour is a long weekend on a couple of Barges in celebration of Grandad entering his 7th decade! Argh me hearties. It should be a really fun weekend and am really looking forward to it. Full steam ahead!

The first post...

So the first post! A lot of pressure to entertain! I am setting this up as a journal for when Becky and I go travelling around Europe. I thought I may as well include some of the build up as it's going to take some organising to get to the time and place where we are ready,packed up and on our way!

The brief plan is that we can both quit our jobs (Yipee!) and for about 6 months drive around seeing what Europe has to offer.
There is no real plan as over a period of 6 months it's pretty hard to say where you'll be a month, two months, three months etc in, but as a rough route, this is it as follows:-

It sounds so easy....(!) Here's the awesome piece of machinery that will be taking us on this wonderful journey.

Isn't she a beaut! Of course this is just some of the preparation that has already been in action! All of this work was carried out over the months of March to May of 2007 in ready for the poor excuse for a summer that we have just had. She is 1975 Bay Window 1600cc VW Camper Van.
